This year’s Kentucky Derby field, as in previous running for the Roses races, contains a heavy Keeneland sale flavor.
Grade one winner Authentic along with eight other graduates of Keeneland’s 2018 September yearling sale are entered in this weekend’s Kentucky Derby.
Keeneland sales have produced 22 Derby winners, including three of the past four horses to enter the Churchill Downs winner’s circle. Nyquist won in 2016, followed by Always Dreaming in 2017, and then Triple Crown winner Justify in 2018. Post time for this year’s Kentucky Derby is 7:01 Saturday. The 2020 edition of the September yearling sale at Keeneland is set to begin on September 13th.?
