Athletes at Berea College will not be participating in most fall sports. That word Tuesday from officials with the USA South Athletic Conference.
Presidents of the conference cited the health of coaches, trainers, athletics staff, and more than 4000 student athletes in voting unanimously to postpone all competition until the spring 2021 semester.
The recent rise of COVID-19 cases throughout the USA South’s geographical footprint was cited as one key factor in making the decision.
The sports affected at Berea College are men’s and women’s cross country, men’s and women’s soccer, and women’s volleyball. No decision has been made regarding men’s and women’s basketball.?
