Lexington Mayor Announces Countdown Clocks For Breeders' Cup

youtube.com

In about eight months, the eyes of the Thoroughbred racing world will be on Lexington and Keeneland.  For the second time in five years the Breeders’ Cup Championships are coming to the historic horse racing track.  Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton announced earlier this afternoon plans for 80 electronic countdown clocks positioned around the bluegrass community.

“You’ll be able to find them all over town.  So, November sixth is just under 245 days away.  Let the countdown begin.”

The Breeders’ Cup event will take place on Friday and Saturday, November sixth and seventh.  Mayor Gorton says plans are also underway for a week long Breeders Cup festival in Lexington.

The 2015 edition of the Breeders’ Cup in Lexington brought even greater attention than usual to horse racing when Triple Crown winner American Pharaoh took home the first place prize.?
