EKU Versus UK In Rupp Arena Friday Night

easternprogress.com

For the 13th time, Eastern Kentucky University and the University of Kentucky will meet on the basketball court.  Friday night’s game is just the second regular season contest for each team.

The EKU Colonels opened the 2019-2020 basketball campaign with an eleven point victory over UT Chattanooga.   Also Tuesday, UK beat the number one team in the country Michigan State by seven points.  Second year EKU Head Coach A.W. Hamilton calls Friday night’s game, a quote, “huge test for us.”

“I don’t want our guys to back down.  You know I want to go in there and play Eastern Kentucky basketball.  We’re going to play hard and we’re going to play an up tempo game and pressure them and press them.  We’ll learn a lot from them and you know we got a young team so it’s going to be great experience for us,” said Hamilton,” said Hamilton.

The last time these two teams met in Rupp Arena, Kentucky won 88 to 67 four years ago. EKU has never beaten UK. Tipoff is set for seven o clock.
