EKU'S Nick Mayo Makes History

Eastern Kentucky University

It was a history-making night for Eastern Kentucky University senior Nick Mayo Saturday. Unfortunately, the athletic feat came during a challenging game in Cincinnati.

Mayo, the big man from Maine, scored 25 points in the 95-77 loss to always tough Xavier. His three-pointer, just shy of the halfway mark in the first half of the contest, gave his 1,835 points moving him past former Colonel Guard Matt Witt as the number one scorer in EKU history. Witt’s playing time at Eastern was from 2002 to 2006. EKU fell to six and five with the loss at Xavier.

The Musketeers are now seven and four. The Colonels stay on the road with a contest this Saturday afternoon at Duquense in Pittsburg. The Eastern Kentucky University women’s team lost Saturday to West Virginia 78 to 29.
