EKU Football Colonels Face UK

kentucky.com

For the second time in two years, but only the fifth time ever, Eastern Kentucky University battles the University of Kentucky on the football field.

The two teams, separated by just 27 miles, meet up Saturday in Lexington.

EKU Coach Mark Elder calls UK a “complete football team.”

“They’re a tough football team, might be the best team at Kentucky in the past 25 years.  It’s what I’ve heard from a lot of people.  So, we’ve got a major challenge against them this weekend, but our guys are excited.  Can’t wait to get to play them this weekend,” said Elder.

Eastern comes into the noon contest off a season opening loss to Western.  UK opened its year with a win over Southern Mississippi last weekend.  Two years ago, UK rallied frantically to beat Eastern in overtime.?

The two teams, separated by just 27 miles, meet up tomorrow  in Lexington.
