Eastern Kentucky University’s football Colonels have been tabbed to finish second in the upcoming Ohio Valley Conference race. The ranking is certainly partly based on a returning EKU runner.
Media reps from across the OVC picked Eastern to finish second behind Jacksonville State this season. Senior running back Dy'Shawn Mobley was selected as the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year. The UK transfer rushed for almost 15 hundred yards, scored 20 touchdowns, and helped the Colonels to a nine and four record last year. In preseason voting, EKU earned one more point than third place pick Eastern Illinois. Eastern opens this season at home against Valparaiso September third. The Colonels also have an October third game against UK in Lexington.
