  • Look at Patrick Kruger's house and you see the bottom of his tree through a window, and the top pushing through a damaged roof. Kruger was actually having a little fun. He broke his 14-foot tree in two and used building materials to create the illusion.
  • Gen. Joseph Dunford will be nominated to succeed Gen. John Allen as the top commander in Afghanistan, according to a defense official familiar with the decision. Allen is to become head of the U.S. European Command.
  • Forbes magazine has released its 25th annual billionaires list, and holding down the top spot again is Mexican telecom mogul Carlos Slim Helu. But there are some newcomers like American Sara Blakely. The 41-year-old founder of Spanx, the body-shaping undergarment company, is the youngest self-made woman to join the club.
  • Hoping to attract new investors, Kevin Dumont climbed a waterslide and chained himself to the top on Nov 9. By Nov. 25, he didn't have new investors but he did attract pneumonia.
