Sixth District Congressman Andy Barr criticized the Biden administration over withdrawal of the U.S. troops in Afghanistan at an event at the University of Kentucky Wednesday.

Sixth District Congressman Andy Barr calls the early commentary of the Taliban following its takeover of Afghanistan, quote, “ridiculous public relations from a blood thirsty organization.” During a stop in Lexington for an event at the University of Kentucky the GOP representative added, “you can’t trust a word they say.” Barr, who serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, is also critical of the Biden administration for how U.S. troop withdrawal occurred.

“I am calling on the entire Biden Administration National Security Team to resign immediately. This whole debacle of the hasty retreat from Afghanistan is the most consequential and disastrous foreign policy decision of my lifetime,” said Barr.

President Biden has said that after 20 years, it was time to completely remove US troops from the country.

However, Barr claims the events over this past weekend in Afghanistan resulted in the jailbreak of thousands of suicidal jihadists. The Lexington congressman also said it makes the U.S. less safe than the day before the 9-11 terrorists’ attacks almost 20 years ago.
