Kentucky's Republican candidates for governor found little to disagree with during their first joint appearance of the 2015 election cycle.
Agriculture Commissioner James Comer, former Louisville Metro Councilman Hal Heiner and former state Supreme Court Justice Will T. Scott agreed the state should not borrow money to shore up the state's pension debt, fretted about the financial future of Kentucky's Medicaid expansion and said they likely would not expand preschool programs because the state cannot afford to pay for it.
Former congressional candidate Geoff Young provided the lone Democratic dissent at the forum sponsored by the Kentucky Press Association, with Attorney General Jack Conway not attending because of a scheduling conflict.
Candidates in the crowded Republican field are trying to find a way to separate themselves from the pack. The primary is May 19th.
