Potential ‘write-in’ candidates have less than a week to decide if they want to enter the political frey. The deadline to be a write-in candidate in the November sixth General Election is this Friday. Under state law, write-in candidates for any office must file a Declaration of Intent to be a write-in and pay a statutorily prescribed fee. Write-I candidates for President and Vice President must also file a list of presidential electors pledged to the candidates. Write-in votes cast for individual who have not satisfied the filing requirements are not counted.
