Conway Bypasses P’Pool to Rip Walker Visit

In a message to supporters, Democratic Attorney General Jack Conway slammed Republicans for inviting Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker to campaign in Kentucky later this month. Walker is scheduled to headline two rallies and a fundraiser for Republican gubernatorial candidate David Williams, who has praised the Wisconsin governor’s brief tenure in radio interviews.

Conway is running for re-election against Republican Hopkins County Attorney Todd P’Pool, but the attorney general ignored his opponent to address Walker’s fight with labor unions.

Seeking contributions, Conway told supporters in a message entitled “Stop Scott Walker” that he celebrated Labor Day with his family, supports improving wages for state workers and has favored strengthening collective bargaining rights for public employees during his political career.

“Now, we just learned that Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker, who has become the national poster child for stomping on the backs of working families, will be in the commonwealth to campaign against Kentucky Democrats,” says Conway. “Today I am asking you to join me in standing up for Kentucky working families and to tell Scott Walker to bring his anti-union agenda somewhere else.”
