University of Kentucky Goes Online Amid Coronavirus Concerns

NPR

In an 'abundance of caution' regarding the coronavirus outbreak, the University of Kentucky announced Wednesday afternoon that classes will go to online instruction for two weeks. March 23rd through April 3rd the university will remain open, but instruction will be given online or through other alternatives. The university plans to resume in person classes April 6th.

Students are not being asked to vacate campus and will be allowed to stay in dorms. All staff operations will continue as normal. Large campus events where large groups of people are expected to gather will be evaluated on a case by case basis.

A statement from the president says the university’s Health Workgroup will continue evaluating the trajectory of the virus as April 6th approaches.
