Mountain Parkway Expansion Growing

mountain parkway expansion

The next segment of the Mountain Parkway Expansion Project is scheduled to begin in August.  Gov. Matt Bevin made that announcement Friday during a stop in Salyersville.

The $70 million dollar construction project will widen and improve a crash prone stretch of roadway at the Magoffin-Morgan county line.

When completed, this section of the parkway will be widened to four lanes and connect two adjacent four lane pieces of highway.  The new portion of the Mountain Parkway will cover about four and a half miles.

The roadway is currently undergoing construction in Morgan County and along restaurant row in Salyersville.  When completely finished, the eastern Kentucky thoroughfare will run more than 90 miles and cross six counties. ?
