We begin this week with a comment from an anonymous listener about traffic reports, “Well, it’s 7:52 in the morning on the 21st of September and traffic is backed up from Versailles Rd. to the first Versailles exit on the Bluegrass Parkway, and the morning drive host is telling us there are no delays to be concerned about. You don’t have anybody spotting for you or your head’s in the sand or something.”
This one comes from listener Stephanie, “I wanted to thank you for your weekend lineup, especially Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me and Snap Judgment. The re-runs of Car Talk are enjoyable and even useful still. The Moth Radio Hour is fantastic and everything, Krista Tippett, the rotating Sunday evening programs, This American Life. I’ve even gotten used to The Dinner Party Download and really enjoy it now.”
Stephanie continues, “I also wanted to request that the announcers pay a little more attention to what they’re doing. They announce the time wrong often. Just now, somebody said, ‘…as On Point gets underway,’ but it’s noon on a Monday so it’s not On Point, it’s Here and Now. If we can’t trust them with that simple information, then how do we know that the details they’re giving us about traffic holdups and accidents are correct, and other things like that. So, if they could just pay a little more attention, that would be great.”
