Here’s another response to the question of whether listeners still appreciate Car Talk in its current form as a “best of” program. Jana, of Frankfort writes, “I actually started listening to WEKU rather than another area station because you carry Car Talk."
Jana continued, "I enjoy the old episodes and listen nearly every Saturday morning while I lounge around trying not to get up and do anything productive!”
Mona wrote to us, “Are you dropping Dinner Party Download? Say it ain’t so!”
Our response: We are not dropping Dinner Party Download, just moving it back an hour to 7:00. What we have done is add the Friday edition of The World at 6:00.
To be completely transparent about it, since State of the Reunionis no longer producing programs and we were struggling with what to do to replace it at 7:00 pm. Knowing that a lot of our listeners are fans of The World,we thought let’s get it back on the air on Fridays but it makes most sense right after All Things Considered, not between Dinner Party Download and This American Life.
A note on Facebook from Hannah, “I consider myself somewhat tech savvy, but for the life of me I cannot listen to Eastern Standard as a podcast. Listing through iTunes just opens the iTunes store--not the podcast. And I cannot find the podcast in iTunes. Listening through a different program just opens up a webpage full of html.”
We responded to her suggesting the links on the main WEKU page should work when selecting “subscribe with iTunes.”
