Feedback: Q Getting on Nerves and Traffic Info Needed

A listener choosing to remain anonymous, left the following for us last week, “Lately, the program Q is beginning to get on my nerves. I don’t know what has changed about it but I’m suggesting that you not renew them.”

Q, provided to public radio stations in the U.S. by Public Radio International, is in the process of selecting a new permanent host to replace JianGhomeshi who was released some months ago by the Candadian Broadcasting Corporation. We’re glad to have the comments but choosing to take a “wait and see” attitude until the CBC gets things settled out.

We had two calls on Wednesday morning about weather-related traffic issues.  The first from Luann, who works for Eastern Kentucky University, “I just heard the traffic report that said there were no problems on the highway. I-75 is virtually stopped.  Quarter til eight this morning and I’ve been on 75 for about fifteen minutes. No I’m at mile marker 103.”

From an anonymous caller, “There is (sic) multiple wrecks all over the Richmond area, northern Madison County mostly I’m assuming because I drove from Berea and Berea wasn’t near as bad.”

Understanding where both of these folks are coming from, we’ll do some thinking about how we can improve coverage of some traffic situations that don’t make it into either the systems of the Lexington Traffic Management Center or the State Transportation Cabinet.

And finally, on Facebook, MaryLinda of Frankfort wrote to us on Sunday morning, “The station is NOT broadcasting on 106.7 in Frankfort this morning!”

We didn’t see the message until late yesterday, but we’ll get someone over there as soon as possible.

We’re always grateful for your feedback.
