Feedback: Kudos for 4:00 am BBC

Last week we shared some comments from listeners unhappy with the recent addition of an hour of the BBC World Service weekday mornings at 4:00. This week, Frank wrote to us, “My wife and I are BBC loyalists and are grateful to WEKU for the programs you play, from 4 AM onwards.  I suppose we could listen to the BBC on the web, but we are old-fashioned radio addicts.”

On the Listener Comment Line,  “Hi, my name is Tori and I just read the comments complaining about the hour of BBC News at 4:00 in the morning.  I love that you’ve added that.  It absolutely makes my morning.  I work overnights and listening to WEKU is how I pass the time and that hour of BBC News is now my favorite part of the morning and I’m very happy with it.  I would appreciate even more news overnight if you feel like it.”

We did hear from another overnight listener who misses the hour of classical music. Phyllis wrote.  “Let me add my vote to those who complained about the BBC at 4:00 am.   I’m a fan of BBC but you’re continually whittling away at classical music, and I’m chauvinist enough not to appreciate the British accent at that hour.”

Accent or not, we’d love to put your comments on the air.   We’ll gladly keep your identity anonymous but we do need to know who you are, especially when you call 859-622-1657. You can email your feedback to: WEKU at eku dot edu, leave a comment on Facebook or even tweet it.

Then be sure to tune in again next Monday at 6:33 or 8:49 am or 5:35 pm for Listener Feedback on 88.9 FM, WEKU.
