Thirty-six porches and 80 musicians are signed up for Saturday's Kenwick Porch Fest.

A group of Lexington volunteers are hosting the fourth annual Kenwick Porch Fest on Saturday.

The festival brings out dozens of musicians to perform on front porches across the neighborhood.

This year, 36 homeowners and 80 musicians have signed up. Organizers say they’ve made an effort to platform as many musical genres and styles as they can, from Bluegrass to pop punk to a tuba and ukulele combo.

“We literally matchmake between the musicians and the porch hosts so that we make sure that their vibes match, that they're open to the style of music that they play,” organizer Hannah Allen said. “And I think that really helps create just a really helpful communal environment for both the musicians and our neighbors.”

Allen says this year will feature the most musicians the festival has ever had. It also platforms some aspiring musicians who might not be performing in front of an audience otherwise.

“We have a number of musicians who have been here since the beginning and who have grown, and this has been part of that because we provide stages for people who are at any level of their experience,” fellow organizer Martha Pucinich said.

The festival is scheduled for 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday. It’s completely open to the public, with no admission fee.

It will take place within the boundaries of Kenwick, from Richmond Road to Aurora Avenue, and from Sherman Avenue to Walton Avenue.

More information, including the lineup of musicians and the festival’s schedule, is available on the festival’s website.
