An unusual job fair will take place at Lexington’s Davis Park Workforce Center Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. “Look Good, Feel Good” is the brainchild of two members of the latest class of Leadership Lexington. With the help of community partners, Sydney DeLong and Troy Black organized a one-stop job shopping experience. Delong said they came up with the idea on the first day of class.
“I wanted to be able to provide people clothing that they could use to get back into the workforce. And Troy had a similar idea with a career fair and providing haircuts and other services.”
DeLong said seven barbers and seven hairstylists are donating their services. Black said financial literacy information will also be available.
“We hope that the people that are coming out to our event just embrace the opportunity of the extra resources they'll be given. If we can get one person a job there, you know, that would be great for us.”
DeLong said participants will get to keep the clothes they pick out – and get a free lunch.
