Lexington plans activities for Black History Month

‎
Mary Todd Lincoln House

Lexington’s yearlong recognition of its 250th anniversary includes events for Black History Month.

Those events are meant to focus on educating the public and celebrating the contributions of Lexington’s African American community.

That includes Black History Month tours at some of Lexington’s local landmarks. Art by Black creators will be showcased at the Henry Clay Estate, and hands-on activities for children will be available at the Mary Todd Lincoln House.

The Lexington History Museum is also hosting free, self-guided tours on President's Day.

Carson’s at Andover is hosting a Black History Month dinner series, with a uniquely themed meal each Sunday.

A series of jazz, blues and soul concerts at the Lyric Theatre are also scheduled each week this month.
