The start of the fall meet at Keeneland means off track activities

Stu Johnson

This weekend a central Kentucky fall tradition once again comes to a historic racetrack. Some of the popular activities are found outside the Keeneland grandstand.

The fall meet at Keeneland runs Friday through Saturday, October 26th with no racing on Mondays and Tuesdays. On race days, no ticket or reservation is required for tailgating on The Hill, located adjacent to Keene Barn and the Entertainment Center. The Hill is open from 8:00 a.m. until 60 minutes after the final race. Shuttles to the track are offered.

On Saturdays, Sunrise Trackside runs from 8:00 to 10:00 with lots of family and kids activities. Fans can watch racehorses training. Among the races this first weekend is the $600,000 Claiborne Breeders Futurity on Saturday.
