Manufacturing company plans expansion in Lexington, creating 60 new jobs

Manufacturing company SRC of Lexington is planning an expansion that would see 60 new jobs created.

The manufacturer creates products for the construction and energy industry. They’re investing more than $15 million dollars into the project.

The company says the expansion is meant to accommodate for a growing demand from customers.

Gina Greathouse is Commerce Lexington’s Executive Vice President of Economic Development. She says most of the agency’s time is spent helping existing businesses like SRC expand locally.

“We're seeing a lot of project activity right now with expansions of our existing businesses,” Greathouse said. “And I guess for me, that shows commitment to Lexington and Fayette County.”

It comes after SRC’s parent company bought a facility off Mercer Road in Lexington last March. The company plans to renovate the building and move in next year.
