Heading into the Labor Day weekend, with many people will flying to their holiday destinations, COVID-19 cases are on the rise in Kentucky and around the nation. Kevin Hall, a spokesman for the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department, recommended masking up again.
“One of the best things people can do is something that we've just simply forgotten about doing and that's wearing a mask wearing a well fitted mask not only protect you, but it can help protect the people around you.”
At the height of the pandemic, when protective masks were mandatory on planes, some passengers objected strongly. Others, in other places, ridiculed those who wore masks. Hall said he hopes non-mask wearers will treat those whose who do kindly.
“There's no reason to bully people who are wearing masks. It's important for them. You don't know their situation. They could be having a compromised immune system. They could have young kids at home or elderly relatives at home. So let's just all try to be as nice as possible.”
