Lexington police say over the weekend, two pedestrians were killed by hit-and-run drivers in less than four hours.

Over the weekend, in less than four hours, two Lexington pedestrians were struck and killed by vehicles.

Lexington police said they responded to a hit-and-run Saturday night around 11:30. The driver who allegedly struck and killed a 52-year-old man was located and charged with aggravated operating a motor vehicle under the influence. Less than three-and-a-half hours later, another person was struck on New Circle Road, between Richmond Road and Alumni Drive.

Police said that driver is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and failure to render aid or assist in an accident involving serious physical injury or death. They said each investigation is ongoing. Further charges are possible.
