Lexington police say the man accused of fatally shooting Scott County Deputy Caleb Conley during a traffic stop Monday afternoon later shot another man in Lexington and stole his vehicle.

They say they used the city’s Flock license plate reader system and traffic cameras to find the stolen vehicle. Steven Sheangshang, 45, was then arrested in a Lexington home. He faces several charges in Lexington in addition to first-degree murder for the shooting of Conley. They include first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, possession of a handgun by a convicted felon, and tampering with physical evidence. Sheangshang also had two warrants for second-degree burglary, and had been featured in a recent Lexington Crimestoppers report.
