Lexington park is the first to receive federal Covid funding upgrades

Lexington Urban County Government

Children now have access to a new playground at Lexington’s Pine Meadows Park. It’s the first of many playground upgrades and redesigns coming to Lexington parks funded with federal COVID recovery dollars.

Pine Meadows Park is receiving multiple upgrades. In addition to new playground equipment at the park off Versailles Road, a new walking trail is already in place and, coming this fall, the basketball court will be resurfaced.

Another nine parks will see upgrades thanks to American Rescue Plan Act money. Parks and Recreation Director Monica Conrad says surveying and community outreach into neighborhoods help to determine the playground equipment that best suits residents’ needs.
