An event this Friday night in Lexington will recognize participants in a public art project.
Lexington’s first Civic Artist in Residence Project concludes this week with a showcase of three artists’ work. It comes after 13 months of collaborating with city employees.
Three artists were chosen by a 26- member advisory committee that included city workers and community representatives. They are Debra Faulk, a local comedienne and actress who worked with the city’s Department of Social Services. Local quilter and fiber artist Hannah Allen who worked with the city Department of Finance and film producer and director Anthony Gilmore who worked with Lexington Environmental Quality and Public Works Department.
The projects will be presented from five to eight Friday at the Pam Miller Arts Center on Main Street.
