UK holds its first campus-wide job fair this weekend

UK Human Resources

The University of Kentucky is staging its first-ever campus-wide job fair Saturday at Kroger Field. The university says there are currently more than 700 job openings. Representatives from more than 60 departments on the main academic campus along with UK Healthcare will participate. Steve Ivey is the Human Resources communications manager. He said the need involves filling existing and new spots.

“We’ve seen the similar trends in the labor market that are happening nationally. So, we’re always looking for more applicants to the open positions that we have. And like I said, we’ve also had a lot of growth, so a lot of those are incrementally new positions to the university,” said Ivey.

The job fair runs from ten to two. Early Primary voting is also being held at the football stadium facility. Ivey said the job fair will be situated at a different spot at gate nine.
