Thoroughbred Training Center gets new housing

Keeneland

Keeneland announced the completion of improvements at the Thoroughbred Training Center. The facility off Old Paris Pike has been a well-known training site for racehorses since 1969.

Six new barns along with some other enhancements are now found at the 245-acre year-round training center. The six new barns contain 240 stalls.

The improvements include wider shed rows to accommodate safe winter training for horses housed year-round, dedicated interior food rooms, and interior and exterior wash stalls. Additional and improved parking is now onsite.

Financing for the Thoroughbred Training Center was aided by $500,000 from the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund. The training center has two dirt tracks, located within a six-hour drive of ten racetracks, and is home to 831 horses.
