Lexington Bluegrass 10,000 Light Planned For July

lexingtonky.gov

An in-person Fourth of July Festival tradition in Lexington will return this summer.  The competition will be scaled down in size. Lexington’s Bluegrass 10,000 and fun run are back, along with a virtual option as well.

The 45th race in-and-out of downtown Lexington on July third is limited to 2000 participants, first come-first served.  Sign-up online started this week.  All participants will run in waves of up to 175 people with a total of 12 groups.  There will be no formal awards ceremony.  Awards can be picked up at the Carver Center.

The virtual Bluegrass 10K can be completed anytime between now and July fourth.  The Fun Run is for those who want to run or walk up to one mile.  That event will take place on a different course downtown on the third.
