Lexington Emergency Crews Responding To Partial Parking Structure Collapse

Lexington public safety crews are responding to the partial collapse of a parking structure in the downtown area this morning.  Jordan Saas is with the Lexington Fire Dept.  “Just after six a.m. this morning the Lexington Fire Department responded to the 200 block of West Vine Street for the report of a structural collapse.  At the time we didn’t know what it was.  It turned out to be a parking structure.  As far as I know at this point, one section of the parking structure had collapsed.  There were no injuries reported but there is significant building damage.

Saas says the cause of the deck collapse is not known at this point, whether it is weather related or not.  More information when it becomes available.
