Three Day Event Canceled Again; Plans To Return In 2022

kentuckythreedayevent.com

For the second straight year, a premier equine event at the Kentucky Horse Park has been canceled.  A substitute event is being explored.

The Land Rover Kentucky Three Day Event presented by MARS Equestrian will not take place as originally scheduled for April 22nd through the 25th.  Equestrian Events Incorporated President Mike Cooper said, quote, “With so many uncertainties still remaining regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, it is premature for US Equestrian to remove its restrictions on spectators.”

Other events are being considered to be held over that same weekend without spectators.  Those competitions would likely feature many of the same horses and riders that would have been competing in the Five Star.

The Alltech Arena at the Horse Park is currently being used as a regional coronavirus vaccination site.   EEI Executive Director Lee Carter said nothing being considered would negatively affect the COVID vaccination process.  There are already plans in the works to bring back the long standing Three Day Event in 2022.
