Lexington police have now arrested three men in connection with the shooting Sunday inside Fayette Mall. Late last night police reported 19-year-old Xavier Hardin is charged with murder in connection with the death of 17-year-old Kenneth Bottoms Junior of Lexington. Hardin, who also faces two counts of assault, is lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center.
Police say it appears the shooting was an isolated incident stemming from a verbal altercation. Bottoms was taken to the hospital where he died.
Two other victims, a 41-year-old man and 17-year-old girl who suffered non-life threatening injuries, are believed to be uninvolved bystanders.
Two others associated with Bottoms who were at Fayette Mall at the time of the shooting have been arrested and charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence. They are Nasir Lyons and Cion Townsend, both 18.?
