July Fourth Celebration In Lexington To Include Re-Opening Public Playgrounds

lexingtonky.gov

Outdoor recreational opportunities for children in Lexington are about to pick up this weekend.  Along with additional outdoor activities come some health recommendations.

Lexington Parks and Recreation officials say the Fourth of July holiday on Saturday will also mark the re-opening of public playgrounds around town.  Parks and Recreation Director Monica Conrad said children will need to wear masks and keep their distance from other climbers and swingers.

Conrad added parents should keep their kids out of crowded playground areas.  Lexington’s four spraygrounds will open in mid-July at Jacobson Park, Masterson Station Park, Douglas Park, and Castlewood Park.  The parks director says coronavirus concerns are keeping public pools closed this summer.

Individual basketball courts will also be opening this Saturday, but large banks of courts in parks will remain closed.?
