Lexington Launches Development Website

lexingtonky.gov

On the first anniversary of Lexington’s updated comprehensive plan for development, city officials are launching a new one-stop-shop website.

Lexington Long Range Planning Manager Chris Woodall says the imaginelexington.com site includes video content and interactive maps. “Some that they can engage with and really pull the information out of it, that’s interesting to them without having to dig into the full content of the plan,” said Woodall.

The comprehensive plan, updated every five years, sets out zoning for commercial and residential development for the next 20 years.

Chris Woodall says the “inform” and “implement” phases of the website are scheduled to be in place by the end of this year.  “If there is ever an opportunity for people to provide public input or be involved in some way in our planning process, we’ll have that.  And then also constant updates to our projects and things coming out of the plan,” explained Woodall.

Planners like Woodall hope the website format will add a new layer of accessibility and transparency for the information.
