First "Imagine Lexington Week" To Be Held Next Week

Stu Johnson

The first “Imagine Lexington Week” activities will be visible at several venues next week.  It’s being promoted as one more opportunity for citizens to weigh in with comments regarding the government’s road map for commercial and residential development.

Long Range Planning Manager Chris Woodall says the Planning Commission will take a final vote on the comprehensive plan in December. “So the input that we are gathering throughout Imagine Lexington week and then Imagine Out Loud at the Senior Center will be important and we’ll incorporate that into the final draft of the comprehensive plan.”

Citizens will be asked to comment on various topics like jobs and prosperity, the environment, neighborhoods, and urban/rural balance at various gatherings.  Those will include Thursday Night Live, Freaky Friday Flicks, and a Tree Week Seminar.

The “Imagine Out Loud” program, with a casual atmosphere, will be held Thursday October 18th at the Senior Center.
