Trick-or-treaters in Lexington have options this year when it comes to the traditional Halloween activity. The matter of a date for trick-or-treating has been an item before Lexington’s council more than once this year.
City officials have decided to keep it on October 31 with Fayette Mall offering an event on Thursday, October 29. Public Safety Commissioner Ronnie Bastin says all days around the Halloween date are likely to be busy. “We felt like it was the best of all worlds to provide options to people because people have different needs and this allows at least a couple of options,” said Bastin.
The Breeders Cup racing at Keeneland along with a UK football game make for an active October 31. Bastin says all three days the end of that week are expected to be busy with traffic and pedestrians.?
