Blasting Along Lexington's New Circle Road Expected to Stop Traffic Daily

kentucky.com

For several weeks, mid-morning and mid-afternoon travel along a section of Lexington's New Circle Road is expected to be impacted by blasting operations.  The weekday blasting will take place as part of a major reconstruction project for more than two miles between Versailles and Leestown Roads.

Natasha Lacy, with the State Transportation Cabinet, says blasting times are not precise.  "The blasting procedures will be in place two times per day for the next several weeks approximately at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and those are approximate times depending upon when the equipment is ready and also the weather," said Lacy

Lacy says the weekday blasting could stop traffic for 20 to 30 minutes each way on New CircleRd. near the Old Frankfort Pike overpass.   The blasting is necessary for placement of new bridge piers.
