In honor of Women’s History Month, Shadelandhouse Modern Press is hosting an evening of poetry and fiction called Celebrating Women’s Voices. Publisher Virginia Underwood said six women with a strong connection to Kentucky will be presenting.

“These are women who have a passion for language, images, words, phrases and a willingness, in fact, a need to speak through the written word and they do this through story-telling.”

The event will begin with a reception and an opportunity to meet the writers including Pauletta Hansel and Melva Sue Priddy. It’s being held at The Carnegie Center for Literacy and Learning in Lexington the evening of March 2nd and is free and open to the public
