KET's Bill Goodman Named Executive Director of Ky. Humanities Council

The Kentucky Humanities Council Tuesday named a new Executive Director.  As WEKU’s John Hingsbergen reports, the new head of the non-profit is a person whose name and face are familiar to many Kentuckians.

For 21 years, Bill Goodman served as host of such programs as “Kentucky Tonight” and “One to One With Bill Goodman” on Kentucky Educational Television.

The non-profit corporation affiliated with the National Endowment for the Humanities announced the appointment, citing the Glasgow native as a long-time supporter of the humanities and the arts in Kentucky.

The Kentucky Humanities Council’s services and programs have reached more than 100,000 Kentuckians every year since 1972. The organization says it has invested more than $14 million in sharing Kentucky’s stories with the people of the Commonwealth.

The Emmy Award winning Goodman will begin his new duties January 1, well after he hosts his final night of election coverage on November 8.
