Cemetery Tours Featured at Ky. Horse Park

Stu Johnson

Sights not often seen at the Kentucky Horse Park will be highlighted during an October special tour.  It comes with the first cemetery tour.

The Cemetery Crawl: History and Mystery of the Kentucky Horse Park program includes stops at three cemeteries on the grounds plus dueling grounds and Buford Duke House build in the late 1700’s.

Tour Guide Ashlee Chilton says a famous dueling spot is also highlighted.  “At that point, it was right on the Scott County, Fayette County line.  So, a lot of men would their duels at that area so that if the authorities showed up, they could just hop the line to escape that county’s jurisdiction,” noted Chilton.

The first cemetery crawl tour is scheduled this Friday at 5 p.m. and then each Friday night there after in October.  Reservations are required for the tours.?
