Lexington Based Military Missions' Efforts Continue in 2018

Military Missions

The Lexington based Military Missions organization continues its effort to reach service men and women worldwide.  More than 400 packages were shipped from Lexington in December.

Military Missions coordinates care packages, based on requests from both chaplains in units overseas and individuals living all across the country.  Longtime Volunteer Larry Neuzel says the program focuses on soldiers in areas of conflict.  “You know, if they’re in Germany or Japan or something like that, they have access to getting the items, but when they’re in harms’ way, they don’t always have access to getting the items and so, we request small items that they can take out on maneuvers and things like that,” said Neuzel.

Neuzel says the care packages contain a number of items including toiletries, puzzle books, a deck of cards, plus greeting cards.  Neuzel says there’s a need for generic cards, since packages go out four times a year.
