Blue Grass Airport Seeing An Uptick In Travelers

blugrassairport.com

Just about a year ago few flights were going out or coming into Blue Grass Airport in Lexington.  Many planes were about 10% full at that time.  Airport Spokeswoman Amy Caudill says this week has seen some of the biggest growth in travelers in a long time.

Caudill said it’s important to check websites for the latest coronavirus related info.

“So, I really recommend that you check TSA.gov to see about those changes because there’s been a lot of flexibility provided to passengers about bringing additional hand sanitizer, unlimited disinfectant wipes,” said Caudill.

Caudill noted it’s anticipated international travel will be the last to come back.  The Blue Grass Airport spokesperson added it may be best to get with a travel agent when making those plans because of travel restrictions and testing requirements.

While there have been reports of some unruly passengers regarding mask mandates, the airport spokeswoman said that hasn’t been a big concern on the ground.  Caudill added a lot of the airlines are providing some flexibility in eliminating or reducing change of flight fees.
