Lexington Mayor Linda Gorton says the city’s mobile coronavirus testing program is moving to another neighborhood later this week.
More than four thousand COVID-19 tests have been conducted since the program was unveiled a few weeks ago.
The mayor announced the Mobile Neighborhood Testing program will be moving to Consolidated Baptist Church near Hollow Creek, Winburn, and Marlboro neighborhoods. The testing will be conducted Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Friday noon to 8 p.m., and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Health insurance may be requested, but it’s not required for the free drive-up or walk-up tests. No appointment is necessary.
The city is in the process of providing additional public testing options. Drive through testing is available weekdays at the Southland Christian Church campus off Richmond Road. Similar testing is still being offered seven days a week at the Walgreen’s on Executive Drive and through this Friday at Kroger’s site at Bluegrass Community and Technical College off Newtown Pike. Officials say appointments are required for those tests.?
