Third Horse Dies In First Week Of Keeneland Fall Meet

Another horse sustained a fatal injury at Keeneland Wednesday and the jockey was also injured. 

The 3-year-old Triggerman sustained a catastrophic injury to his left front limb during the 5th race. Keeneland Medical Director Barry Schumer said jockey Adam Beschizza suffered an injury to his left clavicle.  He said the rider was stable when transported to UK Hospital for further evaluation.  The 5th race was run on the turf track. 

The AP reports this is the third horse fatality during four days of racing in the fall meet at Keeneland.  Stella d’Oro was euthanized Friday afternoon after sustaining a fatal injury in the fourth race.?  Fast Dreamer was injured on the track Friday and was later euthanized.
