Outdoor Burn Ban Issued In Fayette County

The Lexington Fire Department has issued an open burn ban for Fayette County.  It will be in place until at least Oct. 7.

The news release states the burn ban comes after 22 days without measurable rainfall coupled with low relative humidity.  That creates dangerous conditions.  Those weather conditions are anticipated to remain  the same for the next week.  Lexington citizens are prohibited from setting any outdoor fires until the ban expires.

The ban applies to all residents and businesses in the Lexington area, including those in rural and urban areas.
