School Safety Working Group Hears From KCTCS Official

Blue Grass Community and Technical College

The head of safety and emergency services for Kentucky’s 16 community and technical colleges says the roadmap for addressing campus safety includes a great deal of emphasis on front end violence prevention.

Todd Gray offered testimony Monday before the School Safety Working Group, which includes a number of state lawmakers.

“Especially discussing more ways on the front end, the behavioral teams, the crisis management teams, how to anticipate, how to look for those signs.  I believe they’re going to delve into that just a little deeper,” said Gray.

Gray says there is a need for short, medium, and long term planning which includes assessing infrastructure, like security cameras. He says, it also includes checking equipment.
