bereadylexington.com

Kentuckians living in flood prone areas are being reminded of the possibility of flash flooding through midweek.  Flooding has been a significant concern this year in many communities.

Kentucky Emergency Management Director Mike Dossett said response crews participating this past weekend with rescues in Bourbon, Harrison, Scott, and Jessamine counties.  Dossett says high water is experienced by Kentuckians throughout year. “Kentucky experiences flooding 12 months of a year.  Most of us in this state know we’re surrounded on three sides by bodies of water.  We actually are currently in two disaster declarations,” said Dossett.

Dossett said those came following flooding events in 22 eastern Kentucky counties in early April following by flooding in 34 western Kentucky counties just two weeks later.
