Henderson Voting Sites Busy, No Sign of Intimidation

The political tension in our nation has raised concerns about whether there might be intimidation on Election Day, but that wasn't an issue in Henderson County.

County Clerk Renesa Abner said she has been checking to see if there’s been any sign of that at the five voting centers.

“I called all of the polling locations with that specific question just to see, are you having any poll watchers there or any challengers, and the answer was no. People are coming in, they’re voting and they're leaving. As far as I know, no one is doing exit polling at any of my locations,” said Abner.

Abner says voters observed safety guidelines of the pandemic and when
she went to check out a large polling site, everyone was wearing a mask.

She says the voting booth is cleaned after each person, one of many health precautions in place to keep voters safe.
